One of the most beautifully illustrated books I have seen in a while. The story is well told. While the style doesn't fit my personal storytime style, it should probably work great for others in my department.

This was a fun book about making the best of a rainy day! I loved the use of onomatopoeia and while at first I worried this book might be a bit too long for storytime, I actually think it would be a good length! If the crowd skewed younger, it could be split in two parts right before Jazmin decides to go outside and face the rain herself.
Jazmin is NOT going to let it rain on her parade. Wonderful sounds of thunder "tat-a-tat Boom!" and "slap-clatter clatter SLAP!" of rain pouring down in buckets punctuate the text. And Jazmin, the Rain Stomper, leads all the neighborhood children in the stomping of the puddles.
Velazquez's very realistic illustrations (beautiful oil paintings) really add to the overall effect.

The Illustrations led this story. The sounds and the emotion kept my little people and myself more than engaged.
A young girl, upset that the parade has been spoiled by pouring rain, decides to march to the beat of the thunder and create her own parade.
A great book for either rain or parade storytime. Jazmin is excited about being in the parade but when she gets up she sees that it is raining. She is mad at the rain because it will ruin her chance to march in the parade. She is so mad that she stomps in the rain, she skips, and she splashes. All the kids in the neighborhood come out to join her and they have an impromptu parade of their own. A great story of something disappointing becoming great fun.

The Rain Stomper by Addie Boswell – This is on kindle unlimited. A bold reminder that unexpected challenges are a chance for new adventures! Happy Reading!
This story didn't have much to it, just a girl who is upset that a parade in canceled due to rain. She goes outside and "stomps" away the rain. Not a very engaging story overall, but very beautiful illustrations.
