As soon as I finished this book I wanted to read it again for the very first time. There are only a few books in life that you read where you feel the author might have dug around your own mind before putting pen to paper. In this book, a transcription of David Wojnarowicz’s audio diaries, he details his thoughts on life, death, what comes after, his current intense relationships and everything therein. It’s top 5 books for me, I read it years ago and I still haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.

Wojnarowicz writes/speaks in such relatable and raw verse. Other than some of the dream elements (because who wants to listen to someone else’s dreams for too long?) this book of recorded, “spoken essays” is an incredible trip through late night rambles and wonders. I can’t get enough of Wojnarowicz’s language.

It can be very eye opening but too much of it is him just relaying his dreams.

A rawer, more honest set of confessions than Close to the Knives. Overall tonally quite different, especially given all the dream sequences, but the Wojnarowicz flare still burns at all moments.
