When they say the apple doesn’t fall far from the trees, this book shows that. Trigger warnings are rape and police brutality. This book was good. Touch is my top love language and I love the take this author took with how touch can have a negative affect on someone’s life based off of their experiences. SPOILER ALERT, justice was served but man oh man the journey just to get there. This book also discusses self-identity in your own community. There were laughable parts, parts when I shook my head, and parts where I was enraged. I love when a book can bring different emotions out of me.
