An absolutely delightful insight into the life and work of WCW, the colossus of modern American poetry. Diligently researched, in-depth (if sometimes repetitive) overview of his life, writing, politics, problematic moments (i.e. feminism, gender issues).
WCW was the forerunner in form, content, and perception of so many things, and so ahead of his time (and yet on time) that they are still considered progressive.
This collection of essays is useful in enhancing the experience of WCW's poetry, but not in any way necessary to experience them.
