A lovely celebration of earth and the seasons. The stunning illustrations with fun die-cut images flow so well with the text.

A beautiful story about appreciating the world around you. Uses cut outs really effectively to help tell the story!

The illustrations and the shapes of the pages all come together so beautifully. This book is so poetic and would work perfectly if students are learning about similes and metaphors!

Okay so reading the same book in the same sitting as "If You Came to Earth," I found myself comparing these two books. What I do love about this one is the die cuts. I love cut out illustrations.
I was hoping for more considering this was written by the illustrious Patricia MacLachlan (the author of Sarah, Plain and Tall). Trust me, it is still VERY good. But I thought it would be different. However, I applaud the use of a person of color on the cover!

Beautiful story of the Earth personified as a being that helps nature and the seasons. Love the illustrations and the peekaboo holes in the paper that add depth and excitement.

Paper cutouts make the illustrations extra memorable. Would make a sweet gift any time of year & be nice to revisit around Earth Day. More of a poem about the seasons than a story.

This book is gorgeous! I love the way it is put together with paper-cuts and interestingly shaped pages and text placement. The illustrations suit the text well.
