A great start so far! Too bad it's so short! Reading the others right now to see how it ends

I don't remember this and 2014 was a long time ago

*There may be spoilers in this review but big ones will be marked.*

I have never read a shape-shifter dragon story before so reading the first episode of Spearwood Academy was really different from what I usually read.
I must admit from reading the blurb I imagined Avalon to be a much nerdier girl than she was in the book but since it was a fairly short story and I understand why there was not much time to introduce this into the story. I didn't really connect with the characters much and wished I could have a bit more. The two (principals?) of Spearwood Academy that were introduced into the story at the end I found to be a bit creepy but I guess that's how they were meant to seem.
I'm very interested in Triton and am interested to see what part he plays into this story. I'm looking forward to see what being in an all-boys school would be like from Avalon, a girls, perspective; I think it'll be really interesting.
My kindle messed up a bit when I was reading this book so I had a few formatting errors but that did not take much from the story. Besides that I found minimal grammatical and spelling errors which is good.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review from the author via the Making Connections YA group on goodreads. All opinions are my own.

*I read this book on the 7th of January, 2014. It will not be included in my 2014 reading challenge as it is too short. The minimum pages required for my reading challenge is 60 pages.*

I read this and I think the second one (been awhile) and it sucked. However, I hear the author redid it. Which, if that's true, I'm going to read it because it had loads of potential.

So here's the deal. You have a good story idea but it was executed terribly. I know YA authors like to pack a lot of drama in their books, but this.... I couldn't follow any of it. None of it made sense. Ever. I gave up on this series and haven't thought about it until a version of it (the new one maybe?) popped up.

I think I'll hunt down this other book and see if improvement was made.
