Anthony Horowitz is a master of the murder mystery genre. Can’t wait for his next installment of “Hawthorne Investigates”.

An author/playwright becomes the prime suspect in a murder after his newest play gets a scathing review from a powerful ??critic. Not my favorite book in the series, but still a fun cozy mystery! Never a shortage of suspects and motives, and just the right amount of humor.

Horowitz asks for Hawthorne's help to keep him out of prison - Horowitz is accused of killing the critic that panned his new play.  The mystery is good, the writing is good, and the relationship between Horowitz and Hawthorne is great (it keeps me coming back for more).  Overall a very good read!

Far too slow for me I’m afraid. The last 30 pages were great, but up until then it was a whole load of nothingness plot wise. The idea was cool though, Horowitz being the main character in a book he’s written. Maybe it would have meant more if I’d read the others in the series first? Who knows?

The Twist Of A Knife by Anthony Horowitz
This is the fourth instalment in the Horowitz/Hawthorne series and in my opinion it is the best one yet.
As a character, Horowitz starts the book breaking off his working relationship with Hawthorne. After the case in book three, Horowitz has had enough and refuses Hawthorne's offer of writing a new book. He decides to focus on his career as a playwright, something he has longed to do for his whole career and he pins all his hopes on the opening night of his West End play. Sadly for Horowitz, things go more than horribly wrong and he is soon on the run from the law, accused of murder. He must go cap in hand to Hawthorne, his only hope of getting out of a mess, but will Hawthorne help now that Horowitz has rejected him?
This is fantastic. It is funny and dark in equal measure. It's full of twists and turns and the characters, as ever are fantastic.

Okay, I'm not kidding when I say this is my new favorite series. I read every book as much as I can (like 8.5 hour read) and actually can't focus on anything else. Thank you, Anthony!

P.s. I read all the acknowledgments and love how you integrate your life into the storyline! (Sometimes I can't tell if its sarcasm or not)

All in all, READ THESE BOOKS PLEASE!!

Love you, bye
