Anthony Horowitz has done it again! The newest instalment of the Hawthorne and Horowitz series is just as fun and addictive as the earlier novels.
In The Twist of a Knife however, our author finds himself under suspicion of murder. Only the gruff Hawthorne can save him.
Once again, Anthony Horowitz has proven himself as one of this generation's greatest storytellers.
Although this is a series, you can read it as a standalone book, but I'd highly recommend starting at the beginning of the journey first.
Thanks to Anthony Horowitz, NetGalley, and Randomhouse UK for this copy.

This was so fun, the fact that the author is revolving the whole book around a bad review of a play he really did is so smart. At first it did feel a bit slow for me, but I think that's my own fault, because I'm not used to reading these types of books. At the end everything went more smoothly and it resolved beautifully. I do have to add I haven't read the previous books, but I don't feel like it really mattered, I feel I had all the information I needed to understand the book.

Per usual, I did not figure out the murderer. But I keep on reading Horowitz mysteries because he’s a good writer and his novels are enjoyable.

One of my favorite in the series yet! There were a lot more clues hidden throughout so it was easy (in a fun way) to figure out exactly what was going on.
Loved it.

I didn't think I was going to like this based on the synopsis. I didn't like the idea of Anthony being arrested and I hate Cara Grunshaw.
I was incorrect. I loved it.

This 4th book of Hawthorne & Horowitz somehow had to wait 4 months to be read after the purchase, but I really loved it at the end.
The duo is getting closer, even acting cute sometimes, Hawthorne is described as much nicer than ever, and a bit more of his private life got revealed; I'm getting the feeling that something will happen in the next books… Tony is liking him, but can we really trust him? Can't wait the sequels.

This is my 7th Anthony Horowitz book, and I've liked three of them, so I continue to give him a shot, even though 2 stars is the best I've come up with previously for a Hawthorne book. And the last one got a one, I thought it was quite terrible. I do not find the Hawthorne character to be very interesting. I read this without much hope, but was pleasantly surprised to find it a vast improvement over the last one. I had some quibbles here and there, some laziness in the story telling, what with random characters just happening to come forth with the perfect information at the perfect time, but as my expectations were so low to begin with, the fact that I was mostly entertained by this was good enough for my rating to soar to a three.

This author delivers again! It must be strange to cast himself as a self-involved fool in this series, but as a reader I too stumbled towards the conclusion with nary a clue as to the true culprit.
Can’t wait for the next one!
