Having fallen in love with SK's style of writing with Fantasy Lover, i knew this book had a LOT to live up to. I definitely wasn't disappointed. Kyrian and Amanda are a couple for the ages, and their story is at once beautiful, romantic, tragic and sexy.

With this, the second novel in her series Sherri continues to add both spice and humor to the Dark Hunter world, and she does it almost better than anyone else around today. Her early DH books are hands down some of the best novels I have read, in any genre, in a very, very long time.

I have said this before, but I honestly think I read this series far too quickly the first time. I ended up getting slightly burned out around the time of Devil May Cry (DH #13). But, it ended up being like an addiction...I couldn't stop myself from devouring the next book. If I ever manage to get my TBR list down to a somewhat manageable level, I want to go back and experience this series again from the beginning.

It was a good book. Among all the dark hunters, his past and character were the most tame. I had read the series a couple of years back but this remains the only book I want to reread consistently. the rest are too heart-rending.

I had such high expectations on this one.... It was so freaking cheesy! I felt this strange disconnect throughout the entire book. Like the author was trying to be funny but it just came out forced. I was slightly confused from the start, she spoke of her magical sisters as if she was making fun of them, or if they were crazy believing in the supernatural. Then she would say something that would contradict herself talking about how they would conjure demons to fight them? Yet she wanted normal so she decided to ignore that side of her? I was lost with the plot, there was too much that lead me to believe the author did not do diligent studying before writing this.

When they were locked in the cuffs, only to be released 24 hours later? There were times I had to ask myself, just exactly how long are those cuffs? Get in the car..... HOW??? I just felt she added to many parts that people normally would love (Greek Mythology, Vampires etc... that it was way too meddled.

What is one book without another. The first 'proper' in Kenyon's series, and a good introduction to the Dark Hunter world. Amanda was totally unassuming and occasionally really irritating, but she was the perfect foil for Kyrian with his bad-ass leather jacket and almost Angelus vibe.

Culpable, culpable, culpable...
