I really liked the book overall, but it was a bit hard to get into at the start because it dumps a lot of information at you really quickly, and also there is a
last page kiss so we don't get much of a romantic relationship between Liam and Ben
but there is some bonus content so that's good! It is very cute and we love cute little gay boys and also cute pigs.

While being a little text-heavy, this cute graphic novel manages to stay light on themes and it's a quick read. I appreciated the depiction of the NA's struggles in searching for jobs and friends' quarrels. But for a romance story, it lacked some development of the relationship with the love interest.

The art style is very pretty, the story however... Yeah I had some issues with it.
I feel like we had no progress at all for like the first 70% of the book and then the last 30% was just chaos.

Thank you to Oni Press for an advanced copy of this book. I can't wait to hold the physical copy in my hands!

A recent graduate from college, Ben Cook is looking for any job to do with his English degree. But nowhere is hiring without experience, until he lands a job at a restaurant. The owner is a bit eccentric but one of the chef's there, Liam, is absolutely dreamy and Ben decides to take this as a temporary position while he searches for something in his field.

This book is perfect for fans of Check Please and Love & Other Disasters!  It is an adorable graphic novel with beautiful illustrations and hilarious text. The main character is complex and well-developed and he is surrounded by a diverse cast of friends and coworkers--including the "food taster" at the vegetarian restaurant: Watson the Pig.

This book doesn't take itself too seriously and there are times where you have to suspend your disbelief, but it also does a great job of dealing with the harsh reality of trying to find a job in your field post-college and the criticism that can come from well-meaning but not very understanding parents. The romance in this is slow and sweat and the friendships are adorable. I definitely recommend this graphic novel!

This was such a fun read, I never thought I would laugh so hard at a fictional pig! In "Chef's Kiss" we follow Ben who has just finished college, and has moved out with his friends. He tries looking for a job in writing but struggles, until he comes across a job in a local restaurant. In the restaurant he meets Liam who is a chef, as well as Chef Davis who sets Ben a challenge before he will be permanently hired at the restaurant. Ben is unsure to start with about the restaurant, but starts to make friends with Liam. We see Ben over the course of the book, develop feelings for Liam but struggle to express them. It tells the story of not giving up on something that you have a passion for, and to go with your gut, as well as showing that a good support network is everything.
This book is filled with brightly coloured illustrations, and I found myself rooting for all of the characters.

Life after university is daunting; from job hunting to interviews to the heavy weight of eyes and expectations, setting foot into the world of adulthood is nothing short of a challenge. Chef's Kiss tells exactly that story: Ben's fresh out of school and taking on the world of employment with his friends. Heavy with the subtle rejection for early every writing job he applied for (seriously, how are you going to get three years of experience when you've just graduated), his beacon of hope comes in the form of a restaurant with an unconventional head taster — and a very cute boy.

From start to finish, this story gives off a very warm and homey feeling that the artstyle was able to capture really well. The dialogue between the characters were evidence of how close they were, and being privy to the group's inside jokes were a delight. Although there were parts where I felt like the text was taking up the bulk of the page, I really enjoyed this graphic novel. Would like to personally give my thanks to the illustrators behind this as it was very much eye candy - the details in the backgrounds giving more inside to each of the characters' personalities, the environments, and the timing when to utilize the two-page spread.

Highly recommend to anyone wanting to take a breather from life and just read something that's just... *chef's kiss* 🤌🤌

Big thanks to the publisher for providing me this ARC via NetGalley. This does not in any shape or form influence my review on this book.
