I picked this up as part of my continuation of this series.
“Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 12” continues to follow Komi on her quest to make 100 friends. In this volume, Komi’s family babysits a young girl named Rei for the week. This could not come at a better time because Komi has just started her summer break.
I really enjoyed this volume and the introduction of Rei. I think Rei compliments Komi well. The young girl, who has her own difficulty communicating with people because of how often she moves, I think helps Komi learn new skills of communication. It was also really fun being able to see Komi forced to communicate with someone without the help of her friends. However, with that in mind, her friends were there for her, and help her break down the wall to be able to communicate best with Rei.
I am very invested in this Komi and Rei plot line and excited to see what happens in Volume 13.
