Two deeply hurt MCs, neither looking for love, both striking out at the other. Renatto is a doctor who lost his husband in an accident. Frey is a nurse and a single dad to a deaf son. His husband left the minute he found out their son would be disabled. Eventually their hatred turns to something else. They find common ground.
This was a very interesting listen (Kirt Graves' narration is, as always, STELLAR!). I enjoyed it and hope to see more of some of these characters in this series.

I loved these two. The ending felt a little abrupt, I could have honestly read so much more with them.

A great enemies to lovers story! Frey & Renato definitely do not like each other to start in this one. It’s a slow emotional burn for sure between them but it’s hard won. I liked how Renato being a widow was handled. It showed that he loved his husband but also could see that maybe that love wouldn’t have lasted which I think was very interesting. I wish though that we had a little more time with Frey & Renato being an established couple.

This book was incredible! I was looking forward to it as soon as I'd finished Knowing You, and I was ecstatic to jump into it as soon as I could (aka the day of its release).
Frey and Renato are the penultimate enemies to lovers couple. There are few stories I've read with the same trope where the MCs seem to truly hate each other in the beginning. I knew Frey was going to be a fun character because of how we met him in book 1, and learning everything about Renato and his past really highlighted the similarities between the men, especially as we were given the real background for Frey's past as well.
Frey's son Rex is a real treat, and it was fantastic having the chance to get to know him a bit better; seeing him interact with Renato. Many books from E.M. feature a deaf character, and they're wonderful every time.
I think I probably teared up a good dozen times while reading this book, but only because the emotions really come off the page. [a:E.M. Lindsey|14177397|E.M. I'm already looking forward to Dallas's book as soon as it's available.

Frey & Renato. Frey is a nurse and Renato is a surgeon and they do not get along at all. A little enemies to lovers action. This book was soooo sweet. Frey has a deaf kid who is precious and I love. This book made me tear up in a great way and feel so lovely
