One Last Thing Before I Go by Jonathan Tropper

In typical Tropper fashion, he leaves the question for you to answer. However - also, in typical Tropper fashion - you enjoy the ride through the protagonist's personal dysfunction nonetheless. Silver is a lovable loser that seems to leave a path of fuckery no matter where he goes. He's essentially demolished his life and those left in the wake have long moved on. When faced with a literal life-or-death quandary, Silver decides to reexamine those destroyed relationships to determine if life is still worth fighting for. A great read that will have you struggling over your feelings about Silver and why the people in his life seem so attracted to his drama. Loved it!

This was a light read, but I really enjoyed this book. Made me laugh out loud in several spots and I was rooting for this pathetic dude and his pathetic bros.

Surprisingly good. The characters felt real in their actions and the book had this low-key humor that I like. In the hands of another author, this story would have been too sweet, but this was just about right.

I liked this latest Tropper but not as much as his other books. I just never really connected with the characters like I usually do. Still, it was a quick, enjoyable read.

Liked this one very much. The intricacies of family.

Not as good as some of his others, but still classic Tropper. I laughed out loud several times.

I really like Jonathan Tropper's sense of humor but this book wasn't nearly as good as This is Where I Leave You.

Not as good as this is where I leave you, but pretty good.

What a great writer! Loved his last book, too. Will read more of his work.

It took me forever to finish this book and I just wasn't that into it at any point. I'm not sure I'll read another Tropper book if this is what they're all like. Parts of this one were funny and I highlighted some great lines, but I honestly did not care if Silver lived or died - not exactly a good sign.
