I am in middle school and a woman came in to my school saying the troubles and how she survived the holocaust! I suddenly got so interested in it because my home room teacher is reading us a book named "Le Valise De Hana" (I'm in French immersion) I'm 40% into reading and it's so interesting with what they do and what it takes to try and survive this

My middle school class and I read this adaptation way back in the 2000s. It was in one of those English textbooks that collected short stories or excerpts from bigger stories by various authors. I've yet to read the actual diary.

This adaptation is done in the form of a play or screenplay and was used as a basis for a play and later a movie in the 1950s. When my class read this, I was assigned all the lines of Otto Frank, Anne Frank's father, who survived the Holocaust. He was the only member of the Frank family to survive any of the atrocities.

It was a hard but necessary read.

This is not the diary written by Anne Frank, but the play produced for the American audience intended to amuse and sell tickets. Scenes were created in the play intending to build drama which did not happen in the annex. With that said, the play itself is entertaining, and often humorous.

Her diary makes WWII real for kids and adults who were not yet born. It's amazing to read.

I've read this text multiple times. There are far superior plays, but its simplicity of storytelling is admirable.

I read this with my middle school class. Overall, the kids were super into it. It was very informative and it has them asking great questions and engaging in good conversations.

IT was moving because we actually got to go to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. Very sad. The part of the book I found saddest was Anne wanted so much to connect with her mother and I don't think they were able to before they died. The saddest part of visiting the house was Otto Frank's letter to his cousin when he still had hope that Anneliese and Margot were still alive.

Anne's diary was a lot prettier than I imagined it would be. It was very girly.

Very difficult to read - especially knowing the outcome. The beautiful part was the hope injected by Anne Frank herself, "...I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart."
