[b:The Long Earth|13147230|The Long Earth (The Long Earth #1)|Terry Pratchett|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1335532694s/13147230.jpg|18164154] was, I believe, probably the very first full-length novel I read on a Kindle, chosen in large part due to the fact that one of my favourite authors - Sir Terry Pratchett - was credited as a co-writer.

Unfortunately, the book itself just wasn't that good nor (IMO) that interesting, and ended with what felt like a major cliff-hanger.

That cliff-hanger, and some residual hope that Practhett would be able to rescue it, is the main reason that I picked up this, the sequel.

Unfortunately (again), this is also just not that gripping, with seemingly very little in the way of plot, and with a title that is almost a complete fallacy (there's hardly any mention of war here).

If I was asked to recommend a Pratchett novel to some-one, this would be far (far ...) down the list.
