After reading other reviews, i've come to the opinion that this book can best be described as an exhortation. Andrew Murray focuses on the What: Absolute Surrender. He exhorts the reader/listener with scripture and example. What he falls a little short on is the Why, and he falls very short on the How.
Workers, take your place every day at the feet of Jesus, in the blessed peace and rest that come from the knowledge—I have no care, my cares are His! I have no fear, He cares for all my fears.
This book is amazing. Seriously. It's been taking my community by storm, and for good reason. Here lies the issue with so many of today's Believers, myself included. We love the Lord, we follow Him (or try to) and we go to church, but we do not succeed as Christians, we fail daily, and our strivings come to little. But here, Murray examines this problem and lays out the answer - absolute surrender. There are so many things I had thought of, in pieces, that he puts together and I can now understand.
If you're a Believer and you seek to follow the Lord, if you're and unbeliever and you want to understand the true power of God, if you suffer from anxiety, if you doubt, if you wish to be closer to God....read this book.

A very quick, easy read. Overall I found "Absolute Surrender to be encouraging. The chapter on Peter's repentance was particularly good.
