I read this book for book club and then forgot to go to book club. It was great. The character gets to live several different lives. We watch her grow and learn how important she is in her “root” life because she is part of her community. We get to see the lives she could have lived if she had stuck with other wants in her life. And how her community would have been so different if she had chosen to be really into swimming or climate change. I really liked the mechanism of the magic and the ending of the story.

The Midnight Library is a profound book. Not only was it a pleasure to read, it was inspiring. As someone who has battled through dark times, i felt understood. Okay to be flawed.
