The Midnight Library is a profound book. Not only was it a pleasure to read, it was inspiring. As someone who has battled through dark times, i felt understood. Okay to be flawed.

It was a quick easy read, I just found it a little underwhelming compared to the hype.

It did bug me that
in every life except her “root life” she was something *big* - international rockstar, Olympic medalist, philosophy professor married to the hot doctor with the perfect family. I don’t know. It just perturbed me a bit…  🤷🏻‍♀️ To me the messaging is against living a simple, peaceful life.

It has some similar messages and philosophical wonderings as “Anxious People” (which I also read very recently) and I just much preferred that amusing/funny perspective.

Thought provoking, way different than what I was anticipating.  Dragged on a bit in the middle, but I thought this plot was so intriguing.

This book found me at what seems like the perfect time. Nora's inability to cope with the life she was living felt all too familiar to me, and watching her grow to appreciate the small things in life was something I didn't know I needed. I finished listening to this book this evening, which felt significant for me as it is my 23rd birthday, it just seemed to remind me that my life is something that is lived in chapters and stages; as Mrs. Elm would say, "Things will get better."
