Cute, a good read, kinda wordy but deep at times. I wasn't left amazed, but happy to have read it.
This one has some really dark moments but also some laugh-out-loud hilarity. It does include a bar scene where the protagonist is drinking his worries away and some swearing, so that's why I marked it as for older readers. I feel like I didn't really get into the book until chapter 6. Also, calling the HR secretary Madam Wosinzki seems like a direct reference to Monsters Inc.?
This is such an odd story. It feels like there's an identity crisis happening. It is drawn for children and middle school, but there are themes and situations alluding to more mature content, in combination with crude humor that elementary school kids would enjoy.
Beautiful, colorful artwork. Clever writing. An unpredictable story. Lovable characters. Abundant mystery. Hints of a huge world begging to be explored. All I can say is, give me book two!
(Loved listening to the song online, too. Wonderful!)
Would definitely recommend to anyone who loved Bone--though the humor and language can get just a liiiitle bit more adult in places.

It pains me to give this anything less than five stars, since the title and general premise made me giggle out loud in a professional setting (embarrassing, yes, but I stand by my response). Seriously, the title is golden.
Rickety Stitch is a somewhat oblivious, often snarky skeleton who's finding it tough to find work as a minstrel in a society that seems to expect something far less whimsical from sentient skeletons. His best friend is a fairly rectangular blog of gelatinous goo. Together, they seek a better life and to uncover the mysteries of Stitch's elusive musical dreams of Epoli.
There were a lot of really funny moments here, but much of it was also tediously detailed or surprisingly crass (indecent exposure jokes, virgin jokes, lots of peeing humor). For a book I was so excited about, I found myself putting it aside often. I'm not sure who the intended audience for this is. Sadly, I won't be pursuing this for my classroom library.

One of the best graphic novels I've read in ages.
I cannot recommend Rickety Stitch and the Gelatinous Goo highly enough.
I cannot wait for the second installment.

Welcome to this book review,
This graphic novel unfortunately began really, really slow for me.
A couple of good jokes got me through it and a hope to like it more. At first Rickety Stitch annoyed me for the most part. It was when I got to the the point of meeting the devil and the gnome that the story really started to feel enjoyable. The flash backs and the devil's humour and the cuteness of the gnome are what really made the story happen. Unfortunately the slime was a tad bit useless ( I still don't understand his purpose in the story other than being a non-talkative sidekick that doesn't really do anything) I really wanted to enjoy this story and liked that you could really listen to the song he is singing IRL, but unless the second volume ends up really cheap when I see it. I am not in any urge to read it.
Over all okay book 2.85-3 stars/5 stars for me.
Thank you for reading.
