Human beings cannot be human (much less humane) under the conditions of a factory farm or slaughterhouse.
I must have cried a dozen times while reading this book. The experience has changed me on a fundamental level. I've made the decision to change my dairy consumption and although I am pescatarian, I would now like to lessen or eliminate fish from my diet. If you've ever considered vegetarianism, pescatarianism, veganism or even ethically sourced meat from a family farm, I would recommend this book to you. I would also recommend pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans read this to reaffirm their reasonings for their dietary choices.
