Nieuwe reeks, cybercrime met een 'nobele' doelstelling, en net voor u wou beginnen geeuwen, kwam er interessant achtergrondinformatie in het boek. Laten we zien wat het tweede deel brengt.

I didn’t really like the beginning  and the middle part, but then sing really made it a bit more interesting. Maybe it’s bc IT and just technology in general has evolved and become a much more day-to-day appliance, the problems and situations within this first novel kinda seemed cheesy and cringy. In todays age, there’s much worse I could begin to talk about happening within the bounds of web and whatnot, but ig the ending kinda saved it by showing a different and more realistic side to Japanese reality of the working- and poor class.

This is a crime story focusing on a fairly unique vigilante criminal. The story follows both the vigilante Paperboy and the Anti-Cyber Crimes Division of the Police force. Mostly we follow the police's investigations as they try to track down Paperboy, and then we catch up on Paperboy and see how he is committing his crimes and carrying out his sense of justice. Paperboy mostly tries to punish people in society he feels are getting away with injustices. He does so by using his wit and programming/hacking skills. He posts a video announcing his target and why he's targeting them, and then he carries it out, sometimes live on video, as the police try to get ahead of him. I feel that so far both sides are very well represented, making arguments for both the police and Paperboy. There's a lot of great commentary on contemporary internet culture, social networks, anonymous forums, and the like. Very compelling cat and mouse story. If you like Death Note or Brubaker's Kill or Be Killed, this is worth checking out. 8.5/10
