I loved G.O.D.S. but after that cliffhanger I was NOT ok! Thankfully Checkmate picks up pretty much right where it left off, so we don’t miss anything. Jolie is heartbroken at the loss of Team Hades. She is rightfully very angry at Team Zeus, and wants nothing to do with them. She swears she will never forgive them for their betrayal, no matter how many times they tell her they had no choice. Eventually she sees for herself just how true that is, how they are punished if they fail a mission, and she starts to try to move on from it. As much as I loved Team Hades in book 1, I really started to love Team Zeus in this one. These guys are all genetically programmed to love Jolie, they are literally made for her, and her for them. Even with that, they’re not perfect and they all have issues to work through. But they do work through them eventually. I can’t really say much more without spoiling anything and I really don’t want to do that! Suffice it to say, I loved this book just as much as the first and I absolutely can’t wait for book 3. Highly recommend!!

Crazy ride

Jolie and the guys are just crazy! The story picked up steam mid book 1 and really hasn't slowed down in the slightest.

I find it a bit hard to find who was connected to whim but I love the dynamics and how they grow.

I love this series so much! Jolie is headstrong and snarky and I love her! I don't want to give too much away, but holy schnikes... you need to read this!

The characters are genetically enhanced, so there is a bit of a sci-fi feel when talking about their gifts, but not so much that it's overwhelming. I love that they have gifts though, it gives another depth to the story.

I don't want to say too much and give anything away, but there are so many twists in this book that I felt like I was screaming the whole time I was reading it. The end? SHOOK.

OMG! What can I say that isn’t going to spoil it for you all . Jolie is heartbroken over the loss of Team Hades and as much as she feels the connection with Team Zeus she can’t forgive them. She finds out more things have been kept from her and she has to deal with that on top of her grief but she tells her guys she’s sick of all the lies. The ending had me at a wtaf moment and I literally felt a shiver run up my spine but you’ll all have to read it to find out why.

All I can say is wow. This book was a roller coaster. I couldn't believe she was okay with being with the first team after the others left. Her dad is terrible and his brother has something shady going on too. I wonder who's DNA he mixed with hers to get the babies.
