Lovely, summery read but left me craving ice cream (some great recipes at the end of the book)!

After having finished it, I still don't know how I feel about this book. I really like the idea of two sisters suddenly inheriting an ice cream shop and having a go at it, but the whole book was just a little too chick lit-y for me (which I guess is fine if you're into chick lit). A lot of the imagery felt a little cliched to me, and I did NOT like the way both women seemed to jump from one relationship into the next like it's all no big deal. Especially the whole Matteo-storyline seemed very contrived to me - why does Anna have to have a boyfriend by the end of the book? Can't she just be a happy single for a few months? She did just break up with her boyfriend of two years that she was living with. I don't know. The book was OK to me, but I found those things to be really jarring.

It's cute, it's full of cheesy feelings and stupid decisions. Quickly read, quickly forgotten. But I could eat some ice cream.

This was a nice, easy read with a simple plot. It was a nice read for the summer and the ending definately made this book.

A really fun, lighthearted Summer read. I found this so easy to read and it was perfect sat in a heatwave imagining all the gelato I could be eating! I was delighted when I found out there was a sequel and look forward to hearing more about what the characters get up to, especially Anna as she was my favourite

Another cute book by Abby Clements about Imogen and Anna's ice cream shop. I had accidentally read the second book in this series first therefore, I knew a lot of what was going to happen. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the premise of the book, and got quite hungry after reading it! I loved how Imogen and Anna wanted to carry on their grandmother's legacy by taking over the ice cream shop, and by rebranding it by offering a variety of different kinds of ice cream items, which made customers fall in love with the items. I also loved how the men in their lives (Jon, Finn, and Matteo) seemed to make us melt with their kindness and lovey characters throughout the book. Overall, a fun and light read which made me want to open my own ice cream shop!

A perfect summer read.

Set in Brighton, it revolves around two sisters and the Ice Cream Shop that they have inherited from their Grandmother. Even though both sisters have separate lives to live, they come together to bring life back to their Grandmother's legacy.

From rocky beginnings, to meddling in laws, disgruntled former employees and a change in personal lives, the sisters learn what is most important to them, and they gain the clarity to actual go after and achieve what they want.

Four out of five stars for the British setting, the relatable characters and the quick paced plot.

Pohodové letní čtení, které zpříjemní horké odpoledne. V rámci tohoto typu knih určitě neurazí, čte se dobře i přes to, že je příběh dost předvídatelný. Prostě taková oddechovka, u které není potřeba moc přemýšlet.
