I am always skeptical when I start reading a book that is part of a series out of order, but I really enjoyed this book. As We Are (The Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers, #5) by Claudia Y. Burgoa was really a fantastic story.
Going back home is never easy, and this story fully expresses all the emotions in a very realistic way that draws a reader in, in a way that makes it almost sad as I came to the last page.
I definitely recommend this book, and will now go back and read all of them!

I was so freaking excited to read Mills's story to find out how he meets the one for him as after getting to know him from the other books this hot single dad totally deserves someone great and I was not disappointed. Getting to see a different side of Mills that he rarely shows made me fall for him even more and Hadley fits perfectly in with the guys and gals in the family and the fact she is a Bakers Creek native made it even better. Mill's and Hadley have a few ups and downs to go through, but when the Aldridge's are involved there are also plenty of laughs along the way as a friendship builds and changes to more. Not only do we get a love story but we learn even more about their father William as well as growing up with him as a father and where all the others are at since we first met them.

Like always it’s never a dull moment with the Aldridge clan. Mills and Hadley were a cute read and throw in his adorable little boy Arden and it was ridiculously adorable. It was a relationship built up in the cutest way. She’s actually a born and raised resident of Baker’s Creek that returned home after the most heartbreaking embarrassing thing happened to her which she spin around and actually made it funny. Mills just casually started talking to her one day at the park after seeing how his son gravitated towards her and a beautiful friendship was formed. Even though his first impression was horrible Hadley didn’t hold that against him because she clicked with his son. As time passed his brothers and their wives loved her and Hadley didn’t care about the town gossip. Mills didn’t know how to express his feelings and almost lost the best thing that ever happened to him and his son but the fight was beautiful. Lovely ending for these two.

As We Are by Claudia Burgoa is book five in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. Mills Aldridge is a thirty-four-year-old, single dad of Arden. Mills was a professional hockey player before he injured his knee and was forced to live in Baker’s Creek to fulfill the requirements of his father’s will along with his siblings. Mills needs a nanny for Arden. Enter Hadley Heywood, twenty-nine-year-old former resident of Baker’s Creek. Hadley is back in Baker’s Creek to help her parents with their bakery. She is the new baker at the bakery Mills frequents and within a short amount of time she becomes important to both Mills and his son. With Hadley back in town after leaving years ago and in a financial crisis, she becomes the Aldridge family nanny.

This story was so sweet and shorter than the previous ones in the series. I enjoyed Mills and Hadley together. They seem so perfect for each other. Mills is sweet, caring, and a great single dad to Arden and his developing relationship with his siblings is adorable! Hadley is kind, funny, and insanely intelligent.

In As We Are we see not only the development of a sweet relationship between Hadley and Mills, but we also see the progression of the Aldridge siblings from strangers into a genuine family. Each book in this series has the underlying basis of the Aldridge siblings being forced to live in Baker’s Creek and each getting their HEA. I enjoyed the familial banter and the love this family had for each other. We get some answers regarding the purpose of the mysterious will, but with the final secretive brother’s story remaining, there are still unanswered questions. Overall, this was an entertaining and engaging story.

As We Are is the fifth book in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. It was the first book I have read in the series, and it was acceptable as a stand-alone. Although I wish I had started reading them all from the beginning because I really enjoyed meeting the Aldridge family and would love to know all their stories. The book was fast-paced and once I started reading, I did not want to put it down. Having six brothers and their family living together created fun of all sorts! I loved the witty banter between them and seeing their relationship grow as they worked together to fulfill their father’s conditions in his will. This book was Mills’ story, the single dad of the adorable Arden.
Mills Aldridge’s hockey career is on a hiatus while he is recovering from a knee injury. In order to meet their father’s conditions, the brothers must live in Baker’s Creek and cannot hire staff for the house. The entire house is in an uproar since the newest Aldridge has arrived and two more are expected anytime. The family agrees they need to have a nanny to help with the children, but they cannot hire and pay anyone. After meeting Hadley Heywood and realizing she needs help, Mills comes up with a way for Hadley to get help for her family while she helps with the Aldridge children.
Hadley reluctantly returns to Baker’s Creek after discovering her ex-boyfriend cheating on her. She has no job or money, and her parents are in a bad situation themselves. She wants to help her parents and the offer from the Aldridge’s is too good for her to turn down. Hadley is trying to recover from her previous disastrous relationship but maintaining a professional relationship with Mills is difficult when the attraction between the two is so strong.
This was a wonderful story and I like how the author added intrigue by having the siblings work on figuring out their father’s secrets. It kept the storyline interesting and added depth to the series. I really want to know what they discover and look forward to reading the other books in the series.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the latest in the Baker's Creek Billionaire series and while have read a couple of the previous books, I haven't read all of them. Maybe that's why I found this book confusing at times. There are so many characters and you're not really given any instruction on who they all are. A cast of characters would have been really helpful. I enjoyed the story of Mills and Hadley and really appreciated the playfulness of some sections of the story. This can be read as a standalone and does have a very satisfactory HEA but there is an overarching story arc that makes it best read with the rest of the series. There was really only one section that felt off for me, and without giving anything away, it has to do with Mills' son Arden. This issue popped up but then nothing else happened and I'm wondering what the point was. Still, I did enjoy my visit to Bakers Creek and looking forward to more.

This was probably my favorite one yet, could that possibly be because we get more Arden? It might be, but who doesn’t love an adorable toddler & single hot dad?
Mills is such a great dad, & he’s a total nerd, which I love.
Even though this story was fast paced, I like how Mills & Hadley took a little time to get to know each other and to introduce them as a couple to Arden.
The Aldrige brothers are on a quest to find out some information about their father, and Hadley may just be able to help them.
This was a sweet story, with all the feels.
