This is the story of Kaida and everything she does to get her dragon to emerge. At first she is fated to the ruler of their realm but when he discovers her dragon hasn’t emerged he rejects her and sends her away. Then the meets the other four princes and they make a deal to help her. I loved the way Kaida kept fighting to remain herself even though their world is telling her she is worthless. She has so much to overcome and there is an underlying mystery of who she is and why her dragon hasn’t emerged. I am super excited to read the next book and see how she gets her revenge. This book’s tropes are rejected fated mates, born rivals, hidden truths, he falls first, burn the world down for her, and revenge/redemption arcs.
