For fans of B-movies, old school Hollywood, and stories told around a campfire, this story features comedy and chills in equal measure. I would 100% watch a mini-series of this in a heartbeat.

I keep waiting for it to get scary and all we're getting is some mild homophobia, general racism and other such bs.

The writing is poor and robotic e.g. "Her eyes filled with fluid" as a description of crying, and the audio book narrator reads this novel like instructing you on how to prepare a tax return. Both of these combined to create a book that sounds like it's written by AI.
