There's only so far I can suspend my disbelief, and a character whose favourite pastime is scrabbling up and around mountains scoffing at and dismissing warnings of dangers on a mountain was just a tad too much suspension for me.

Accepted I won't pick this book up again after 2 years. Unsure why I dropped it but I'm not going to pick it up again.

Had this book on my shelf for a year and a half and it feels good to have it marked as read.

This was absolutely fantastic, I loved everything about this including the characters, the witty dialogue and the climbing. Which sounds completely odd, but it is what they basically did the entire novel.

Anyway, that plot twist. I feel betrayed.

Once again, Heather Fawcett has written a captivating book! She’s easily become one of my favorite authors. I loved following Kamzin on this adventure and the twists and turns and near deaths were thrilling.
Saw the twist about River being a witch before it was revealed but only just.
It was a great twist! Can’t wait to read the next one!
I’m also very curious to see how things play out with Azar-at, the fire demon Kamzin made a contract with.
