Heather Fawcett writes such interesting magic systems amd builds intricate worlds with so much history and lore. Even the Darkest Stars left me wanting more and I'm so excited to read the next book. I lived the characters and can't wait for more of them, especially the sisterhood between Kamzin and Lusha.

What more could more you want?

I like this story and I enjoyed it reading it. I like the idea of explorers and the world is original. I don't see any books that have an idea like this. The fantasy aspects are not new,but the places are. I like Kamzin I think she's pretty cool and smart. She's a climber and loves to explore and wants to discover new things. She was funny in the beginning. I also liked Tem and how cares about Kamzin as her friend and maybe more. Tem is loyal and helpful with being able to use his magic in a new way. I didnt really like Kamzin's sister Lusha. Although she is the smarter one and connects the dots faster. The rest of the characters are fine. But those are my favorite.

I like the world being in a village. Kinda based off the Himalayan mountains. With villages and forest and the kingdom in between. At least thats the picture I get. When I am reading about all the mountain peaks. Raksha being the biggest and most dangerous.

The writing style is good and flowed. The pacing is fine and there's spots of things going on. Romance is there but minimal and not really instant. Which is good I didnt mind it all really. Not much bothers me while reading a story. With another one the story will continue and get better.

It was fun,enjoyable and different.

Really cool setting, somewhat of a bonehead main character. I liked the sister she rivaled better!

A little slow for an adventure story. Pretty classic love-triangle situation. I would like to read the sequel considering it has higher reviews, and I’d like to see how the story ends!

In a land reminiscent of Tibet, Kamzin has her dream fulfilled when she is selected to lead the Emperor's Royal Explorer to the tallest mountain in order to retrieve something that will save the kingdom from the wrath of spell-bound witches. The usual mountain climbing catastrophes are all possible as are attacks from supernatural forces.
