I have conflicting feelings about this book. The beginning to middle was really good, the middle toward the end-ish was not great.. and then the last chapter was good.

Nat is a young college going artist trying to survive in New York city. Almost on the verge of being kicked out of her apartment her friend Ava tells her about a Sugar Daddy website where Nat meets Gabe. Though Gabe is thirty years older than her Nat falls in love with him . Gabe is still married and he has no plans to leave his family for her and when things get too much for him he breaks off the arrangement but Natalie is not ready to accept the end of their arrangement so easily…

The Arrangement by Robyn Harding has great characters and is an excellent psychological thriller with lots of secrets drama, lies, and murder which makes it a highly engrossing read

I would like to thank Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

There is nothing more frustrating than having to hate-read a novel with a thrilling premise and mediocre writing just because you have to know how things worked out in the end. The storytelling is expository and amateurish, but the plot is interesting, like a really great Law and Order: SVU episode but with characters that are more one-dimensional and conflict that is less fully developed. The potential for a roller coaster ride of a thriller is there, but they just couldn't build the hills and turns steeply or intricately enough to make it worth taking the ride. Except, I really have to know whodunit. At least this was a fast read, so I didn't have to slog along for too long. And in the end I had figured out who the killer was before the book, so was it worth it? At least I know for sure, I suppose. With so many thrillers and mysteries out there to enjoy, I can't recommend this book, which is implausible and unengaging, with characters who come in to look ominous or friendly and then go out without having served the story in any meaningful way. At least with Mary Higgins Clark you get characters you can actually care about.
