I really liked this novel. Very spooky but also a really intriguing mystery. I listened to this via audiobook so some of the Icelandic names were a bit hard to parse but the style of the novel (one chapter per alternating storyline) made it easier.
The mystery kept me guessing (although I did guess one plot point) and I liked the ending. Satisfactory but not.
I did appreciate how realistically the characters reacted to supernatural situations. As a reader, the inclination is to get frustrated with their staunch unbelief, but when I really think about it, my brain would definitely want to not experience spooky things and would try its best to come up with some logical reason, no matter how far fetched.
