End was rushed, story lacked substance. It had a chance to do something but fell flat. Writing / storytelling was somehow both chaotic and boring

A close group of friends make a pact to always be there for each other. Tackles grief, love and hope.

Started off strong. Ended up cheesy and cringey.

My original review is below..Until I started thinking about the whole book and remembering the beginning. I had forgotten about it because it was not critical to the story. Upon further reflection, I believe it was included for gratuitous reasons. Obviously, I was able to get past that. However, that topic should not be used as a plot twist and this book could be horribly upsetting and traumatic to others. Its inclusion didn’t feel genuine to me. Shame on me for continuing to read. 1 star

3.0. Beach read. This was better than her most recent books. Cute and predictable. It was a nice way to spend a lazy summer afternoon reading on the deck

Two stars. The characters were privileged and annoying and I didn't care about them at all. This small group of friends are the kind of people that can quit their jobs and go on an elaborate vacation to try to fix all their problems without a moments notice. I also did not buy 2 main characters falling in love at the end of the book.
