Too dark and creepy for me. I think if it were just the twin/murder/memory issues or just cult issues maybe I could have enjoyed it more.

I got this book as an ARC for my honest review. I wanted to LOVE this book so bad. It was just ok for me. The cover is great and catches your eye. The storyline itself was good. It started strong then dragged out and then of course ended with twists and turns. I think for me I could have used more of “The Plan” to have a better view on everything. All in all I liked the book but felt it just needed a bit more.

Unsure how I'm rating this, 3.5 rounded up I think? I'm surprised at how low the rating is on it because it wasn't offensively horrible (aside from the "romance", don't even get me started). But cult-y and a little campy, the concept was interesting, although the execution could have been better. I think I may just be a sucker for a cult plot because I am able to overlook a lot of its flaws due to that.

I really enjoyed the writing style and the pacing. It's unique and I haven't read anything like it before. I would recommend this if you like suspense stories. A solid 3.5. There wasn’t really a shocking twist but I was intrigued the entire plot and now have found an interest in cult plot books. It was predictable and I was hoping for something to shock me but that never ended up happening. I wouldn’t call it a thriller, more of a drama.

Really wanted to like this book a lot more. It’s by no means a bad book, I just didn’t find it as “unputdownable” as I had hoped. I loaned it from my local library and read it in just a few days, but more out of necessity to return it than being incredibly invested in the plot, until the last fifty pages or so.

This book features twin sisters, one who is suffering from amnesia after a horrible accident. Kat wakes from a coma, only able to recognize her twin sister, Jude. Jude helps Kat piece her life back together and Kat becomes dependent on Jude to help restore her identity. As Kat begins to seek answers about her past, she learns Jude has been lying to her and wonders if she can trust her. This story flips between the past and present and when the times converge, the twins risk everything to restore their bond and save their lives.

The beginning of this book had me hooked, but I got lost somewhere in the middle. The story was fine, but didn’t really draw me in like I would expect of a 5-star or even 4-star book, hence the 3.5 star rating. By the end, I was hooked again and didn’t want to put the book down. Good premise and thrilling enough, just not great.

To say that I hated this may be too kind. I kept waiting for it to get compelling, and it never did.

In the end, I was left wondering what the point of any of it was.

I think this is one that jumped in because “thrillers are so hot right now!” but the author/editor/publisher failed to understand what makes a thriller compelling, and so those aspects never made it into the story.

What a waste of a beautiful cover.
