Finished this in a day and I was positively surprised. I didn't expect to love it as much since none of my favourite characters were featured, but it really did grow on me. Kudos to the writers!

Three equally heartbreaking stories. I appreciate Mothwing even more for sticking to her beliefs.

Pebbleshine is such a badass and her love for her daughters is so strong. I wish she had lived, she deserved that after how hard she worked.

Learning about Tree's origin was so interesting, him not holding onto is anger for the sisters reveals so much about his character and his future role in the clans.

I loved that they finally went into depth about Mothwing's denial of Star Clan. Even when she sees that they are real, she refuses to give them the time of day and for good reason. She has a fair point for not relying or talking to them.

All of these novellas were good! All of them sent me through the emotional wringer. The only part I struggle with is that I am reading in order of release, and these don't match up entirely with the current arc, as the events are from the past.

We learn how Pebbleshine was separated from Skyclan, and how she's still watching over her kits. We learn Tree's origins. I especially liked meeting his father. We learn how Mothwing became a medicine cat.

I feel like the Mothwing novella hadn’t really shown anything new and was most of the same dialogue from the main story. Despite this, I thought the other two novellas were great, especially Tree’s and how interesting it was.
