A co-worker recommended. Not my usual cup of tea but promised I'd check it out . . .
I just finished and though predictable it was very entertaining.

A solid and entertaining story. The trial at the end threw me as I felt it was grasping at straws but overall very good.

I really liked this plot idea. Not just a remarkable woman who wanted to right all the wrongs and lies of her life, but the time period as well. You can't go wrong with the golden era of Hollywood, nor with the last great film actress spilling all the secrets. The one flaw being the major plot twist, and the killers identity, were both too easy to guess. I had both pegged very early into the book.

Wow. This was not the first Nora Roberts book to make me cry, but it was definitely the one that made me cry the hardest. I don't think Nora gets enough credit...because she is a "romance" writer, she gets painted into a corner as far as writing abilities go. However, as a creator of characters, she is a master, and this book was no different. What I loved about this one was that she created so MANY different characters...at least 20 with detailed backstories that were all cleverly interlinked...and that they were all so believable. Through the narrator (a biographer), I fell in love with her subject, Eve, and as the story unfolded (both Nora's and the biographer's), I was always on the edge of my seat. I think this book was like 440 pages, and I read the whole thing in a day...couldn't put it down. Perhaps my favorite one of hers, ever.

Libby informed me I spent 10 hours and 40mins reading this saga of a book. Eve was a compelling character, and sadly all others fell flat around her. Despite that, she stole the show and made for an enjoyable story, that absolutely captures the late 80s and early 90s glam lifestyle in all its glory.
