I feel conflicted about this book. I love it but it also makes me feel unsatisfied. The ending needed an epilogue. Maybe there will be more information in book 2 but so many things feel unfinished in this book.

okay so the curse is broken but what are the consequences of the bad people? Julian would have literally died did he not break the curse with Fallon.

I didn't like that all the poc characters were basically in service of the white characters. U didn't feel like it was commentary on it being wrong because of how Kioni reacted to Fallon finding it a strange situation and then it is never mentioned again. 

The ending, it was a disappointment for me. I probably will change my grading in the next few days. Also the last chapter/interlude would've worked better for me a bit sooner in the story. I just pfff I don't know how to feel. 

I did like the writing, at some points it was a bit long. I don't mind how many pages this book is but I would have liked more answers and know the impact the story had on the characters. Now it seemed like not a lot of people would have cared if Julian would have been killed.

Also Fallon 'getting' her magic at the end of the story and also there was this interesting componement of her speaking with ghost but i doesn't really get explored in my opinion. That was disappointing. It was interesting and i enjoyed those parts but they were few and far in between and even then i felt like it wasn't properly explored. Freya explained that she and Fallon enjoyed helping the ghost but i don't feel like Fallon really helped ghosts? They were more there to help her along in the story.
