This collection of poetry is a moving and intimate account of the iconic Evelyn Nesbit’s life through fairy tales and folklore. Evelyn becomes Persephone becomes Little Red becomes you becomes me. Butterworth-McDermott captures Evelyn’s world in such a way that we move through it with our riding hoods held close and our big eyes wide open. I really can’t praise this book enough. I love it so much.
