Reading last books in series is always a thing. In one way it means that I've really managed finishing a series (I'm not always that good at that...), it means I read the complete story of these characters and it also means that it's time to say goodbye. And I'm not that good when it comes to goodbyes, especially not when it's saying goodbye to characters and worlds I really loved. And this series is for sure one of those hard goodbyes.

Mostly because these books have been just so much fun. Each book had its own mystery, puzzles to solve and mean villains to defeat. Although a lot of those cases were quite predictable, this were clearly not whodunnits, it was still a lot of fun watching the characters figuring things out, planning, scheming and breaking rules. This book is not different. We have all that and so much more! It's really the sum of all the previous books.

In an amazingly nice way all the cases they've been solving in the previous books are coming back. All the villains have their part to play in this finale, all the things the girls have learned and discovered are being used here and small details from previous books are now coming in handy, or not. And even though this was maybe not the most spectacular case, it was the most sentimental one. Because just like the girls, I've grown really fond of the school and couldn't imagine it becoming flats!

What I really love about this last book, apart from the sentimental case, is the friendship between the different girls. In the previous books there was some fraction between the girls, naturally, but in this book they have one common goal. They put everything aside and they work together. Each and every character can use her own talents and without them having to be someone they're not they all play their part in solving this case.

I will miss this place. I will miss these characters and I will miss all the puzzles and riddles!

This was a perfect end to a brilliant series, and actually one of the stronger books - I think for me it harked back to the first book, with looking for clues around the school and I really enjoyed that.

I also loved that we had some resolution for the twins family. And that the new whispers was the wider group. I especially laughed when poor Ebony was so confused by all the things she’d missed, it’s hard not to feel sorry for someone who is just hearing about all the past adventures while she’s being told them in a blasé manner!
