Political intrigue, creative interpretations on non-human races, well-drawn characters, and lots of adventure combine to make this series both highly addictive and highly enjoyable. I'm looking forward to book IV.

Another fun one. I was bugged by the fact than one character seemed to be about three weeks ahead of everyone else though.

This series has gotten progressively better and seems to be gaining momentum. There are some predictable points to it, but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment. I particularly liked the way he braided the narrative in this book. I generally find braided narratives annoying; the degree to which they annoy me depends on the skill to which they're executed. But the multi-chapter braids in this book seemed to be a good way of telling the story.
