Every time I pick up a new volume of Monstress, I am blown away by how amazing and intricate the art and storytelling is.
The only reason these books don't get 5 stars is that there's always quite a lot going on and we follow a lot of characters so I tend to get a bit confused but that also could be because its been 6 months since I read Volume 2.

I wouldn't say I got the gist of all that was going on but I wasn't as confused as with the last volume! yay! The art is gorgeos as usual let's not talk about it anymore. ;)

Wahrschlich sehr schön gezeichnet aber die Geschichte war nicht immer einwandfrei strukturiert.
Solid 5 Star read. Gold!
How do I wait until September to read the next Vol.? Shit just got REAL !
Fall 2019 hurry up and get here already!

So, how is the Monster Thing?

Brutal, violent, sometimes confusing. The word used most often seems to be Fuck. Great build-up to a satisfying ending, good cliffhanger. Suspenseful. Mysterious.
To say the artwork is nice would be an understatement. Some very dark settings, reminiscent of a horror movie. Richly detailed. Complex. The fight scenes on the other hand tend to be a bit messy and some sketches are very flat. It‘s a puzzling mix at times.
The relationship between Maika and Zinn keeps evolving and deepening. It‘s becoming my favourite part of the series.
And things are starting to come together, literally. Looking forward to the next volume.
This volume consists of Chapters 13-18.
