First 2/3 super slow and then suddenly everything is happening within like one chapter
Weird wording of some things but this is also an older book
Definitely my least favorite so far

Tragically even Lewis is capable of racism. But the story was a lot more enjoyable and meaningful than I remember it as a child. “Cor and Arvis grew so comfortable arguing and making up again, that when they grew older they decided to marry because there one was none else they’d rather argue and make up with. Plus is made the logistics easier.” Made my heart swell

The first "so so" book that I've read in the series. I just wasn't sucked into Shasta's adventures. I did like the further insight into the original kid's reign in Narnia, but overall I feel like I missed something here.

Summary:
An enslaved boy and kidnapped Narnian horse escape their situations in sight of the North and freedom. Along the way, they meet another human/horse pair and save the Northern Kingdom of Archenland.

Favorite Quotes:
  1. "... if one is nervous there's nothing like having your face toward the danger and having something warm and solid at your back." - 92
  2. "But there is a great difference between a noise heard letting you in with your friends in the morning, and a noise heard alone at nightfall, shutting you out." - 90
  3. "The king's under the law, for it's the law makes him a king." - 239
  4. "Do not by any means destroy yourself, for if you live you may yet have good fortune but all the dead are dead alike." - 39
  5. "For nothing is more suitable to persons of gravity and decorum than to endure minor inconveniences with constancy" - 126

Review/Highlights:
I love how Lewis comments on common self-esteem issues and anxiety as a normal process that can be worked through. It is also amazing to read his stories of adventure and feelings/longings for freedom. The Moses story really comes through the pages like a living work.
