I really wanted to like this book but my interest faded more and more as I read. The plot was predictable right until the very end.

My favorite part about this book is the main character coming to terms with the idea that a “good” person can do an awful thing and you can still love them, warts and all. That’s a decision that isn’t explored enough and it’s one most of us can’t understand when we see it in real life. Watching a character grapple with confusion, pain, trying to have difficult conversations, and the denial of responsibility for your impact is something that isn’t easy to do. It’s also a tense discussion because people have such charged feelings about it. Kudos to the author for exploring that.

The author narrated her book and she did an amazing job. It was a great listen. Parts of the story got me very frustrated, but maybe it's because I'm not a parent. This story definitely kept me engaged and trying to figure it out till the very end.
