I had such a hard time reading this, and not because it was emotionally hard to read, as I've read in other reviews. This book was SO dragged out. The issue from last book was wrapped up rather quickly, and we get a new problem maybe around 75% of the book. The ending to this was SO rushed. I feel like the book could've ended at like 55% of the book and we would've all been happy on where the story would've ended. Obviously the book leaves us with an open door for next book. I just find the whole climax of this book absolutely unnecessary. If you've read the synopsis to all the books before actually reading them, you know the next book is about Julian & his love interest. We do deal with grief in this book. So although some things in this book were necessary for SOME characters, I couldn't stand the way Lex dealt with grief. The way he dealt wit it was complete shit. Charlie at some point annoyed me and gave me victim vibes and soon after her theatrics, there'd be some line about how she'd always been strong but couldn't deal anymore. I feel like both characters have recurring toxic behavior and that just got old really quick.
Anyway, here are some quotes that made me laugh or cringe throughout the book. Read at your own expense.

Catching the breath I have been holding in, this is no doubt the best thing ever to happen to me. - Chapter 21
I'm sorry but I couldn't stop laughing at this.
“Rocky, not all Texans are cowboys…”- chapter 24
C’mon, Charlie, wittiness and comebacks are your specialty. Yeah, maybe not when a woman is practically naked and handcuffed to your husband’s, no, our bed! -chapter 27
I swear sometimes this woman's inner dialogue is ridiculous.
I try to keep my mind busy, but without him, I’m slowly dying inside. -chapter 32
Graphic: Chronic illness, Death, and Sexual assault
Moderate: Child death
