Not your traditional monster in the closet story. Wallace has created an adorable and funny story about bravery and facing your fears. The rhythm and rhyme of the story combined with Elkerton's bright, colorful and funny illustrations will make this a fun read for all. Recommended for pre-k to 2nd grade.

Cute, short picture book. The main character gets the roll of Ninja in his school plays which makes him brave enough to catch his monster. When he catches his monster, things don't turn out quite as expected when the monster just wants to play.

There’s a monster in the closet. The child is going to get rid of it. He learns that maybe the monster isn’t as scary as he thought. My daughter and I love the how to catch series!

This was cute. The kids liked it. They were grossed by the burp and then laughed at the smell. It was a favorite part. Bright vivid colors make it so much fun.
Also, Novel effect really adds SO much to this book! Honestly, I read this to kids both with and without and the engagement was so much higher for the Novel effect additions.

This was super cute. The rhyming scheme is very pleasing and my 4 yo wanted me to read it twice in a row.

This is just such a fun book to read! My sister loves the How to catch series, and I understand why. It’s always enjoyable to read books in this series because of the rhyme scheme and every trap the children make to try and catch whatever they are trying to catch, in this case, a monster. It’s a cute book with great illustrations and both my sister & I agree that this book deserves five stars.

I liked it until the massive fart part. Kids will giggle, but I wouldn’t want to read it aloud in story time.

A cute enough book; however, I will warn some parents that may be concerned about language, a fruit scented fart is mentioned in the book.
