I'm glad I finally read this story! It was one I never picked up as a kid, but have now had the chance to read to my daughter. We read The Magician's Nephew first and my daughter was so excited for the continuation of the Narnia story. I found Lewis' input of the author's viewpoint/suggestions/pointing out pieces of the story's puzzle to be off putting and made the writing choppy at those times, but the story itself is magical.

When I was in elementary school they made me read this in Grades 3, 5, and 8 and then write an essay about how it’s a biblical allegory. And then I had to do it again in Grade 9. So, for a long time I was absolutely sick of Narnia. SICK! I would tell people I hated this book all the time.
Well I am eating my words because I read this book to my students and had a great time. It’s such a cozy fantasy fairytale and holds up to the test of time.

I've read this book before but it was referenced recently and I couldn't quite remember it, so I read it again. It was so familiar as I began it, I must have read it more than once. Fun escape from adult books.

I really liked this book! It was cute, sweet but with a really great story. Had enough fighting and tension to keep it entertaining without being to graphic or focused on that stuff. Great story that I really enjoyed
