Cade and Amelia
This was just ok for me. Yes it was romance and sexy but the storyline was blah. I can’t stand weak characters and the the whole obsession about a fake friend with no explanation was ridic.

This is another one that's been on my TBR for a while. Amelia and Cade were high school (and after sweethearts) whose relationship crashed and burned when she found him in bed with her best friend.
Cade didn't do anything and Amelia wouldn't let him explain. Cade left for a job and is now returning home seven years later, just as Amelia has run from her wedding.
I felt like there was a lot of build up to and explanation of why the friend orchestrated this breakup, but then we didn't get one. Instead, the conflict came from elsewhere and we spent a lot of time in their minds. So much could have been addressed with a conversation. I realize this is a common complaint in romance, and I usually understand why the conversation didn't take place. Here though, it felt forced. For two people who loved one another as much as they were supposed to, they threw a lot away with very little information.

meh, wanted more from the characters. Cutesy & lighthearted. Spicy scenes were perfunctory.
Burn for me is a second chance romance. It's not a bad book, it just wasn't for me. The pace was slow and the story predictable.
rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. I enjoyed this second chance story. we meet Amelia, bad ass construction company owner who just ran out on her wedding and ended up in a bar fight by being rescued by the man who broke her heart 7 yrs ago. Cade happens to be that man and he thought for sure that Amelia would be married and he would have to deal with it but she's single. things are awkward but they need to hash out what happened all those years ago. the lies, the heartbreak and the anger. Amelia didn't want to know anything about him but now that he's back her feelings are still there for him and vice versa. can cade and Amelia get past what happened? will they decide they are right for one another? or will insecurities and past lies come out on top?
A second chance kind of story that will have you hooked. There's chemistry and history between Cade and Amelia. They have a love that not even time could separate. It's a slow burn kind of read but definitely worth reading.
Second chance firefighter romance. Dated through - and after - high school before a lack of communication caused a breakup. 7 years later, Amelia dumps and leaves her fiancé at the altar, finds a bar where her and Cade see each other for the first time since he left.
They’ve only ever loved each other, pretty much get back together ASAP, start to sort through their insecurities and communication issues before he has to leave to fight a massive bushfire.
Distance, no signal, a plane crash and life-or-death scare, they realise they’re obsessed with each other and live HEA. No third act breakup.

The storyline was cute but I didn’t like the authors style or writing. There was way too much attention to detail & the scenery than there was on dialogue. I shouldn’t have to read 2 pages into what the trees look like when somebody is driving.

This was soooo sooo boring. It moved way way too fast nd I’m so over it.

Ok by the time I got to chapter 33 I felt like I have read the ending before. Its so odd.
The rest of the book felt new. It was ok, I liked the second chance at love stuff but Amelia being so jealous I just didn’t like that considering Cade likes her so much.
I just wished it was I don’t know so less angsty/drama. The best thing about this book is Alaska.
Loved the narration too.
