I truly enjoyed this book. Perspective is key and it’s important to realize that other people have different experiences. Can’t wait to read her next book! And rewatch all her movies now!

Gabrielle Union’s collection of personal stories and accounts are touching. They reveal her thoughts and insights into sexual assault, protecting black bodies, advocating for yourself, as well as describing her multiple worlds, be they Pleasanton, Miami, Chicago, or Hollywood. Easy to read and very enjoyable.

I always enjoy an audio memoir read by the author. This one jumped around a little in time in a sausage way that made the story kind of disjointed, but was an interesting listen.

She has a very interesting story. Even though I read it several years after it was written, I connected with a lot of it. Lots of cursing though.

I have not seen many Gabrielle Union movies, but I really enjoyed this book. It has some aspects of a typical celebrity memoir, but goes into many deeper issues. She talks about heavy topics, including rape, divorce, cancer, and being black in America, but is able to keep a sense of humor and keep the reader/listener engaged. I liked that she did not candy coat things and that even though she is a celebrity, she has gone through some tough times and gracefully shares her story.

DNF it. I seldom do this, like very very seldom. So I’m probably picking it up again much later but had to DNF. It gave me nothing.
