very fun and entertaining, very indiana jones-esque, didn't require a lot of attention to follow along; perfect for a week off work!

I really enjoyed this. There was so much action and adventure as the book was playing out in my head I felt like I was watching Indiana Jones. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

Heard on audiobook. This was a simple read, easy plot, predictable outcome, and lots of fun. It’s a mix of B-movie/Indiana Jones/bad action movie, but it sucks you in & you get to like the characters a lot.

It was okay. It needed an editor (500 pages? seriously?) and it needed NOT to copy from Indiana Jones quite so much. I felt no chemistry between the female and male leads...nada. Nice twist, however.

*SPOILER ALERT*

What I learned from this book?
pikir2

Tempat yang jauh di muka bumi. Ketemu jenazah anggota Nazi. Tembak2an.

Kejar2an mobil. Terbang lagi ke tempat jauh. Tembak2an. Tabrak2an kereta. Pindah tempat. Masuk saluran WC. Tembak2an lagi. Bom2an. Duaaar...!

Terbang lagi ke tempat yang jauh dari peradaban. Naik kapal di sungai sepi. Mblusuk2 di hutan. Tembak2an lagi. Bom2an.

Kabur lagi. Masih ke tempat yang jauh. Yaaak, benar... tembak2an lagi. Dan bom masih banyak... Hiyaaaa....

Di tempat jauh lagi. Todong2an senjata dulu, lalu kejar2an Ferrari FX something vs Airbus A380. Tembak2an. Bom2an. Hajaaar!!!

Action/Adventure...possibly a few too many 'blow it up' scenes, but very entertaining. Great characters!

it was a wile since i read this. but i remember it being very confusing because there where so many characters to keep up with. but once they started dying, it got a lot easier.
as a series, that problem only comes up a couple times.
but this is a series that has some excellent action, and amazing archeological mysteries and adventure. its like Indiana Jones but with more comedy and more adventures. and less Nazis. but one of the books does have Nazis in it. lol.
from the hunt for Atlantis, to discovering Excalibur, to mysteries you dont even know about, this is an excellent series, and i give it a gold star for sure!

I've read other reviews that knock Andy McDermott for this book not being believable. I don't know about you but if I wanted believable, I'd read non-fiction. Eddie Chase is an engaging rogue who is alternately lovable and irritating. Nina Wilde is the kind of smart and intuitive that I would pay to be and is probably just a couple of decades too young to be as learned as she is. But. .. cross Indiana Jones with myths, history and legends that we all know well, add in some high tech (almost sci-fi) action and you've got a page-turner that won't let you put it down. I am looking forward to the arrival of the rest of the books in the series.
