This is my number 1 favorite book of all time. I have read it upwards of 50 times. It is my comfort book that I can pick up and open to any page and start reading. I know this book better than any other and yet I still cry every time I read it, and still feel my heart fill with every chapter. I have never felt so emotionally attached to characters and stories as I do with Tiffany and the feegles. I adore every Tiffany book but as this is the first, this is the one I read the most. It will forever hold a very special place in my heart. I miss Terry Pratchett very much and still mourn the loss of one of the greatest writers of all time. This book makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you think, and makes you marvel at his talent for writing diverse, loveable, and relatable characters. I will never in my life get bored of this story.

Re-reading this classic. This time through, I'm going to finish the Tiffany Aching books.  I've been resisting reading the last Tiffany and the last adult Discworld book, since we lost Sir Terry.  Then it occurred to me that I could get hit by a bus and never get to read them. Carpe librum.

What a delight. I'm so glad I finally started the Tiffany Aching books. The chalk downs were a character in and of themselves. I loved Tiffany and Granny and the Wee Free Men. This book is a wonderful imagining of British folklore and fantasy.
