Read with my kid. We’ve watched the movie together like 5 times and he knows the lines (in Finnish) and music by heart and practically ”translated” half of the book for me and told me which sounds and songs go with which illustrations. Anyway, a lovely hardcover version of the story - what’s not to love about this

A cute picture book that re-tells the film’s story, featuring many stills from the film.

6. Personal Response: We got this book when my son became obsessed with the movie Totoro. It tells the entire story of the movie with pictures of every major and many minor events in the movie. [return]7. Connections: This book has a great deal of dialogue and would be perfect as a model for writing grammatically correct dialogue with accompanying illustrations. (A bit like a story board or comic)

Basically this is the book to the movie, so nothing new! The last page did break my heart a little bit though, the page from Miyazaki talking about WHY he made the movie.
