Carter's incredibly unique and informed standpoint as both a U.S. President and a good man is demonstrated with utmost regard to the principal conflict on earth, Israel-Palestine.

And though the situation has had dramatic changes in the eighteen years since this book's revision, its core principles stay rooted. Carter, first-hand, has seen the widespread destruction wrought on the Palestinian people by the state of Israel, and the ensuing fruitless terrorist response of extremist groups such as Hamas.

This conflict's unrivalled complexity and perpetuity becomes shockingly clear-cut in Palestine Peace Not Apartheid - with the need for a two-state solution, abolition of Israeli militant policies and practices, and a united and tolerant Arab world. A solution so simple, yet so frustratingly unachievable.

While Carter attempts to present his perspective as neutral and balanced, this is clearly written from a colonial, imperialist, white supremacist, and Christian-centric perspective. While more moderately framed than other imperial/colonial books on this issue, it simply an opinion piece that prioritizes the wants of the colonists over the rights of a brutalized indigenous population written by a man who either consciously or unconsciously views the indigenous population as inferior.
